And They Danced

We went to a wedding this weekend.

My children danced!

She danced her little heart out. She hopped and flopped on the floor, she whirled and twirled.

And this one! He danced with a friend, twice. She asked him the first time, and he asked her the second time. He also did some wacky, charming solo dancing.

Something funny happened at this wedding. After dinner, a dozen or so kids (mine included!) were outside roaming the beautiful grounds, playing tag, and just enjoying their games. Everyone else was inside, listening to the toasts. The father of the bride gave a speech. Then it was the Maid of Honor's turn. As she was speaking, my sweet 6 year old--covered in mulch--rushed into the mostly silent room and shouted at the top of his voice, "We found a baby bird!!!!!"

Who needs sugar in their coffee when they have this?

Just think of that baby bird as a metaphor for the fledgling marriage. =>
